Born in 1997, Marius is Mette-Marit's son from a previous relationship and became Crown Prince Haakon's stepson after their 2001 marriage. He worked in fashion and media, briefly studied in the U.S. and later trained as a motorcycle mechanic. Legal troubles began with an August 2024 arrest; he admitted assaulting a partner and struggled with substance abuse. Prosecutors brought dozens of charges across 2024–2025. After a seven-week trial, an Oslo court in June 2026 found him guilty of 34 offenses, including two counts of rape, and sentenced him to four years.
